It should be added to everything that the assessment of the state is a very delicate and subjective matter, in which the states, bordering on each other, can be assessed for the better and for the worse on the basis of hardly noticeable signs, we try to adhere to the following definitions as truthfully as possible.
CD status indications:
Ideal (by 5) - like new;
Almost perfect (5-) - something that is not at all great did not allow us to evaluate as ideal;
Excellent (for 4) - it means there are one or three, not large, perhaps very thin, scratches on the varnish, or a trace of touching on the envelope, or some kind of speck;
Good (3) means there are noticeable scratches, like one or more, you can listen to the disc without any problems, but it looks like it was not taken care of as an "eye".
Status designations:
From storage, these are records that have stood up to our time in warehouses, or in personal collections, while they were not played at all.
SS (Sealed) - StillSealed - This LP is factory sealed. The disc is guaranteed to be new, although there are times when its envelope, although sealed, is not always in perfect condition.
M - Mint - New but open disc. Unplayed or played multiple times. Vinyl and envelope are free from visible defects.
NM - NearMint - this disc is almost flawless, it could be played, but neatly and in compliance with the basic rules of use and storage. The envelope may sometimes have minor abrasions, and the vinyl may have small scratches, usually from the inner paper envelope, which do not affect the sound. The envelope is close to perfect, with only very slight signs of wear (mainly at the ends); there may be stickers (stickers) or minimal traces from them.
EX - Excellent - the disc has obviously been listened to more than once, has superficial scratches, during playback you can sometimes hear "sand" or crackling, especially in quiet places and between tracks, one or two soft clicks can fit (VG ++). The envelope may have slight abrasions and / or a couple of minor kinks, small defects on corners or bends, and also slight abrasions in the form of small circles are allowed.
VG - VeryGood - the record was played a considerable number of times, there are abrasions on the surface, a lot of superficial scratches, while playing you can hear the nth amount of "sand", at times crackling, there can be clicks. The envelope may have significant wear and tear, small tears / tears, splitting of seams, stickers (stickers) and traces from them, inscriptions are also possible.
F - Fair - large number of surface defects. When listening - strong crackling sound. The envelope may have severe tears or gaps.
P– Poor– You can only listen if you really want to. There are a lot of scratches and abrasions that create a strong crackle through which you may not hear the music. The envelope is torn or missing.
B - Bad - Spoiled, not suitable for listening.
<+> or <-> next to a gradation means that the state of the envelope / plate is slightly higher or lower than the specified gradation.
AudiophileSound / Edition is a very high class sound, achieved in various technical ways. Records with this mark are almost always valued higher than regular editions.
Book / Booklet - book / booklet included in the album package. Often contains photographs and interesting additional information about the album.
BonusTracks - additional songs not included in the original version of the album.
Box - edition in an expensive gift box.
Bootleg is an unofficial, illegal, pirated release. Contains in most cases recordings of live concert performance.
Cards - postcards, cards included in the album.
ClubEdition is a pre-subscription LP for fan club members. Provides value to collectors.
ColorVinyl is a vinyl record made of colored vinyl. Vinyl color does not affect sound quality. (Clear– transparent)
Complete - complete album. For example McCartney “Venus & Mars” with two posters and two stickers.
Cut-Out - a slit or a hole or a corner cut on the envelope (usually in the corner).
Compilation (V / A - VariousArtists) - a collection of compositions by various artists, united by some common feature, be it one genre, label or year of performance.
Drillhole - a hole is drilled in the envelope (and sometimes in the apple at the plate).

Fold-OutSleeve is the cover of the disc that unfolds like military cards, and is made without gluing individual parts. In fact, it is a small rolled up poster with a record inside. Almost always limited edition.
GatefoldSleeve - fold-out book-like spread of an album, usually consisting of 2LPs or LPs with additions in the form of various posters, photographs, etc.
InnerSleeve is the inner sleeve of the record, which contains lyrics, photographs and other useful information.
Insert is a tab. A sheet of paper with text or any other information directly related to a particular plate. (Cards, Postcards, Stickers, Posters)
InShrink– the envelope of the record is unpacked, but the factory film remains on it (with varying degrees of wear).
LimitedEdition is a limited edition LP.
LP (LongPlay) - 12-inch long-playing vinyl disc, usually at least half an hour in length, recording speed 33 rpm.
MLP (MINI-LP) - 12-inch vinyl record, about 4-5 tracks, mostly up to 30 minutes, 33 rpm recording speed.
Nop / s (NoPictureSleeve) - the disc was published in a universal sleeve.
OBI is a paper (less often polyethylene) advertising tape that wraps around the envelope of a disc, published mainly in Japan. Basically, this tape contains basic information about the disc.
PictureDisc is a vinyl disc with a beautiful picture, on top of which sound tracks are applied. Always produced in limited edition. You should not always expect a phenomenal sound from PictureDisc, as a rule, the sound is inferior to ordinary vinyl records. Therefore, it is more valuable as a replenishment of the collection.
Postcard is a postcard included with the record.
Poster - a poster included with the record. Having a poster always increases the price of a record. Sometimes several times.
PromoCopy– a disc released for promotion, advertising, etc. As a rule, it has a black and white label, instead of a full color one, stickers and stamps PROMO, PROMOCOPY, NOTFORSALE. The sound quality of these editions is higher than that of standard LPs.
Quadro - LPs recorded for playing on quad equipment.
RE (Repress) - reprint.
Soc (stickeroncover) - a sticker on the envelope.
Sol (stickeronlabel) - a sticker on the apple of the record.
S / Sided (SingleSided) Vinyl - vinyl record on which only one of the two sides is recorded.
